‼️WARNING‼️ The following recipe is neither Italian nor healthy….however it will make your husband, dad, or grandfather very happy this Father’s Day!
These brownies are called “Man-Catcher Brownies”. 7 years ago a patient of mine (I used to do occupational therapy) ripped this recipe out of a magazine and brought it to me and asked if we could make these brownies for therapy to improve her standing tolerance and walker safety in the kitchen. I obviously agreed and we made these most delicious brownies in the world. I don’t know what magazine it came from, but I wrote it down and now it is one of our very favorite recipes. If you need to impress a man in your life. These will do the trick!

Ingredients

  • 30 caramels, unwrapped

  • ⅔ c evaporated milk

  • 1 Devils food cake mix

  • ½ c unsalted butter, melted

  • ¾ c semi sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ c chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13 baking pan.
  • In a small pot on the stove, melt caramels with ⅓ c evaporated milk stirring occasionally and set aside.
  • Mix together the cake mix, melted butter and remaining ⅓ c evaporated milk to form a dough. Press 1 ⅓ c of the dough into an even layer. Bake for 7 minutes, the dough will be puffy but not cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and pour caramel sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel. Top with the remaining dough, tearing it off in small pieces and scattering over the top. Add nuts if desired.
  • Bake until brownies are puffy and set, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Cool completely before serving.
