There is just something about frozen treats that scream 4th of July. We decided to combine two of our favorite sweets into one perfectly EASY delicious treat. There are no measurements because you don’t need ‘em….just make them how you want!
Frozen Pizzelle Sandwiches
Course: Desserts, Holidays, RecipesIngredients
Pizzelle (there are lots of flavors, chocolate is our favorite)
Gelato or ice cream of choice
Syrup of choice (chocolate, caramel, strawberry)
Festive sprinkles
Directions
- Place a cookie sheet in the freezer so that the sandwiches can be transferred in batches as soon as they’re ready.
- Lay out your pizzelle in sets of 2 and have your syrup and sprinkles ready. You will need to work quickly so the ice cream doesn’t melt.
- On one side of the pizzelle place 1-2 tsp syrup. Place scoops or slices of ice cream on the syrup and top with more sauce and the second pizzelle. Decorate with sprinkles and place in the freezer immediately. Repeat process for remaining sandwiches.
Notes
- *Pro-tip: Buy 1 pint containers of ice cream, remove the packaging and slice the ice cream into 5-6 slices and place directly on pizzelle.
- *These are best enjoyed immediately but can be stored up to 24 hours in the freezer (the pizzelle just isn’t as crisp but it’s still delicious)
